Legal Experience:

· Prepared patent strategy and worked on US and international patent portfolio development for various companies including Flarion Technologies, Inc. which was subsequently acquired by Qualcomm.

· Prepared and prosecuted many patent applications, both U.S. and foreign, involving, for example: wireless communications, IP communications, network protocols, video coding, computer hardware and software including parallel processing systems, routers, bus protocols, graphical interfaces, cache and memory management in parallel processing systems; complex electronic systems (both computer and non-computer based) in the technical areas of digital video recording, and high definition television (HDTV); MPEG video encoding; telephony; electronic automotive control systems; digital industrial process control systems; video endoscopes; fiber optic networks; lighting systems; power supplies; various electronic circuits; and mechanical devices.

· Successfully represented clients with regard to patent submissions to various patent pools relating to various standards including the MPEG-2 video standard resulting in significant patent royalties being awarded.

· Experienced in patent licensing, including licensing relating to patents relevant to various standards.

· Prepared patent validity and infringement opinions on complex electronic technology involving computers, process control systems, endoscopes, various electrical circuits, and mechanical devices.

· Prepared and prosecuted trademark applications.

· Patent litigation experience including expert witness preparation, document discovery, preparing responses to interrogatory requests, and settlement negotiations.

 · Represented numerous clients in interference proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in matters involving both complex technical and legal issues.
